Who we are

Dumbarton Football Club ("we", "us", "the club") is the data controller for personal data collected through this matchday portal. The portal is operated on our behalf by Vertex Engage, who act as our data processor. You can contact us about privacy at info@dumbartonfc.co.uk.

What we collect

  • Wi-Fi sign-up details: first name, last name, email address, optional mobile number, and whether you opted in to marketing.
  • Food orders: your name, optional email, the items ordered, chosen pie hut and collection slot, and your collection code.
  • Payment details: card payments are processed by our payment provider. We never see or store your full card number.
  • Device and usage data: an anonymous device token stored on your device so we can show you your recent orders, plus counts of sponsor adverts shown and clicked. Sponsor tracking is aggregated and is not linked to your name.

Why we use it and our legal basis

  • To provide Wi-Fi access and keep the network secure — legitimate interests.
  • To take, prepare and hand over your food order — performance of a contract with you.
  • To send club news, offers and matchday information — your consent, given when you tick the marketing box. You can withdraw it at any time.
  • To report anonymous advert performance to our sponsors — legitimate interests.

Who we share it with

We share data only with suppliers who help us run the portal: our hosting and database provider, our payment provider, and Vertex Engage as portal operator. Sponsors receive only anonymous, aggregated advert statistics — never your personal details. We may disclose data where we are legally required to do so.

How long we keep it

Wi-Fi sign-up records are kept for up to 24 months from your last visit. Order records are kept for 7 years to meet accounting requirements. Marketing consent records are kept until you unsubscribe, plus a short period so we can evidence your choice.

Your rights

You have the right to access your data, correct it, ask us to delete it, object to or restrict processing, withdraw consent, and request a copy in a portable format. Email us at the address above and we will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with our response you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

Cookies and local storage

We store a small device token and your basket in your browser so the portal works. These are essential to the service and are not used for cross-site advertising. Clearing your browser storage removes them.
